THE police have arrested four people in connection with the use of counterfeit US$50 notes in Highgate, Port Maria, Oracabessa, and Gayle in St Mary.
The notes bear the serial number MB25837080A and are being used mainly in supermarkets, petrol stations, and at places of entertainment in the parish, the police said.
The public has been urged to be cautious of people who attempt to use US$50 notes to carry out transactions and to make proper checks to ensure that the notes are legitimate.
At the same time, the police have appealed to people with information that can lead to the apprehension of other perpetrators in the counterfeit scheme to contact the St Mary police at 994-2452, 994-9873, police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station.
