ST ANDREW, Jamaica — Another individual who was involved in the crash on Spanish Town Road in St Andrew just over two hours ago has died.
According to police reports, the person succumbed to injuries at hospital.
The individual’s death brings to four the number of people who have died as a result of the Monday afternoon crash.
The names of the four victims have not yet been released, but police report that three males and a female were killed in the crash. Three of the victims were earlier thought to be police officers but subsequent checks confirmed that they are not members of the police force. OBSERVER ONLINE has learnt that shortly after 3:00 pm, the drivers of a Toyota Wish motor car and a Suzuki Swift motor car were travelling in opposite directions along Spanish Town Road when one allegedly lost control and crashed into the other.
Police officers earlier cordoned off the area of the crash and diverted traffic travelling towards Mandela Highway from Spanish Town Road onto Weymouth Drive, where motorists could make their way on to Washington Boulevard and then proceed to Mandela Highway.
