ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — Two people are dead following this morning's gruesome attack at a house on Stand Pipe Lane in the Cheesefield area of Linstead, St Catherine.The deceased were identified as Larude Hartley, a 35-year-old man of Forte Street, Linstead and Octavia Leslie, a 16-year-old student of Muschette High School in Wakefield, Trelawny.
Reports reaching OBSERVER ONLINE are that about 3:15 am, residents in the Cheesefield neighbourhood reported hearing explosions and summoned the Linstead police. The responding officers said they found Hartley and Leslie's lifeless bodies in a house, both having what appeared to be gunshot wounds.
The constabulary's Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) said the two had just returned from the wake of a relative when their attacker(s) struck.
Investigators are still processing the scene.

The bodies of 28-year-old Pagiet Davie and her common-law partner, Sheldon Douse, were found at their Fairview Park home with gunshot wounds in the morning. Police theorised that Douse killed Davie in her sleep before turning the gun on himself. They leave behind a three-year-old son. The incident left relatives, friends and colleagues of the slain cop in shock. "All now I cannot believe that something like this happen. All now I feel as if I am dreaming. This can't be real!" exclaimed on unidentified family member who was on the scene.
