ACADEMY Award-winner Lupita Nyong'o is a fan of dancehall music and deejay Mavado.

During the eight-minute-plus feature, the interviewer asks Nyong'o -- who won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar in 2013 for her role in Steve McQueen's 12 Years a Slave -- random questions at the offices of Vogue in New York.
Interviewer: What song pumps you up the most at the gym?
Nyong'o: Ooooh, So Special by Mavado.
Released in 2009, So Special is one of the most popular songs from Mavado's second album Mr Brooks... A Better Tomorrow. Mavado, whose given name is David Brooks, emerged on the local music scene in 2004 with the track Real McKoy. Over the past decade, a string of hits has come from the man who is the front-runner for his band of acts from the 'Gullyside' - the Cassava Piece community in St Andrew. His hits include Weh Dem a Do, Dying, Give it All featuring Nicki Minaj, House Top, House Cleaning, I'm on the Rock, Overcome, and Gangsta for Life.
Nyongo -- who lives in Brooklyn -- also revealed that her favourite movie over the past five years is the Indian romantic film The Lunchbox. She said she would have loved to star in the 1964 film My Fair Lady and that her favourite comedy is Bridesmaids. She also said the book that positively shaped her is Marianne Williamson's A Return to Love and that she is most surprised to learn that pop star Prince is a fan.
