File Photo The deceased has been identified as Akeem Henry, otherwise called ‘Oshane’, a construction worker and coal miner from the area. According to a news release from INDECOM, police reported that they received information that gunmen were at a house in Job Lane. When they got to the house, it is alleged that a gun battle ensued between the police and a group of men, after which one man was found shot and injured. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead. INDECOM said no firearm was seized in the incident. INDECOM also reported that a police officer received minor injuries to one of his hands in the incident.
